Cannes Film Festival doesn't end until Sunday, May 27, so there is still plenty of time for celebrities to dazzle us with their looks. The style and beauty moments at the film festival can range from the more traditional red carpet ensembles to extravagant, avant-garde looks. No surprise, Julia Fox was part of the latter group with a mesh outfit, baby blue smoky eye makeup, and a dark blue lip.
Fox isn't scared about getting a little weird and experimental with her looks, so this Cannes beauty moment is definitely on brand. On May 22, she arrived at The Idol premiere afterparty in a completely sheer look from head to toe — the only thing that wasn't see-through were the three huge pom poms decorating the front of her shirt that matched the ones on her head cap. Her hair spilled in tousled waves out from underneath the sheer white cap.
The look was mostly neutral, save for the blue accents in her makeup. Shimmery baby blue shadows were added to her eye's inner corners and part of her lids and then blended with deeper pigments for that smoked-out look on the outer ends. Her lower lash line was lined with white liner. It seemed that her bottom lashes were free of any mascara; you can only see very faint hairs. A blue pigment so dark that it almost looked black coated her lips.
Fox's face was sculpted and chiseled, so her cheekbones were accentuated. It also looks like her face was dusted with shimmery highlighter, which you can see on her cheekbones and nose.
This look was for the afterparty, so Fox did have an outfit change from earlier in the day. She kept her goth glam mostly the same, though her dark blue lips looked glossy versus the satin finish she had at the afterparty. Another difference was the noticeably chalk-white center of her face. This doesn't seem like an unfortunate case of flashback; in fact, it looked rather purposeful to emphasize the goth vibes of this striking look.
Some may find Fox's look a bit much, but in my opinion, it's a welcome change to the usual neutral or soft glams we see on the red carpet.
