Andy Cohen Reveals Intense Text With RHOC's Vicki Gunvalson
Andy Cohen is sharing an "intense" story about being stoned, The Grateful Dead, and The Real Housewives of Orange County OG, Vicki Gunvalson. Yes, you read that correctly.
Bravo boss, Andy, knows how to have a good time; cue his infamous drunken New Year's Eve 2021 broadcast with Anderson Cooper. But don't harsh his buzz. Andy recently recounted a text conversation that he had with Vicki right before heading into a concert with musician and close pal, John Mayer, after the RHOC alum heard that Andy had commented on her being an "anti-vaxxer" amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Vicki openly discussed the topic on the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club.
"[I’m] super high walking through the parking lot before a Dead & Company show where John Mayer has just asked me if I wanted to introduce the band at Citi Field," Andy told the hosts of the podcast Las Culturistas.
"I’m super high, and I was really — and I started to get nervous, and my heart is beating. Vicki starts texting me, this is a Friday night in New York City in the summer, she starts texting me going nuts. She said, ‘I heard that you were talking about my stance on vaccines on the show, and how dare you,’" he continued.
"I was like, ‘Vicki, I was talking about something that is in Ultimate Girls Trip. It's on TV. I wasn't putting you on blast.’ Whatever. And we were getting into it."
The Watch What Happens Live host then said that he told Vicki that he was whoopin’ it up at a Grateful Dead show and they would "deal with it on Monday," to which he says her tone suddenly changed.
"She goes, ‘oh, I love the Grateful Dead! Talk to you later, have fun honey!’"
Vicki publicly feuded with the Real Housewives of New York City alum, Dorinda Medley, over the COVID-19 vaccine while filming Ex-Wives Club.
The Coto Insurance founder claimed to have a medical exemption that allowed her to be excluded from getting the vaccine before adding that she didn't want to further discuss the issue because it always came down to politics, prompting Dorinda to push the subject even further, doubling down that "vaccinations [are not] politics."
"I told [Dorinda] it's political, and she didn't agree, and if it's not political then why is the government mandating it? So, you can believe what you wanna believe, but the facts are the facts. So, she has her opinions, and I respect it, I just didn't think she respected my opinion," Vicki told Page Six at the time.
Since filming wrapped on season 2 of RHUGT: Ex Wive's Club, Vicki says that her attitude towards vaccinations has changed.
"It's different where I stand now, but at that time, which was…quite a while ago, it's a different stance than where I am now," she concluded.
